Stand by me song. Stand by me imdb. Stand by me train. Stand by me soundtrack. I was 10 years old when this came out. It was one of the VCR tapes my parents bought and we watched it over and over.
My kids are 11, 13, and 15, and we just watched it together. And it's a classic for a reason - all 3 loved it, just as much as I did as a kid.
Even though it takes place generations ago, and the main characters are all boys, so much of growing up is, and will always be, universal.
Not to mention the acting and 's almost eerie how talented those boys were.

Based on a novella by Stephen King titled "The Body" hmmm, can't imagine why they changed the title for the movie. Stand by Me" is one of those coming-of-age movies drenched in nostalgia for a more innocent time, set to period rock 'n roll tunes that makes for a better soundtrack than it does a movie. It's ably acted by a cast of young actors (the late River Phoenix among them) and it's a solid effort overall, but it's not a movie that really spoke to me in any way or which I even really remember much all these years later.
This movie did, however, trigger my repulsion for Kiefer Sutherland, which I nurture to this day.
Grade: B.

Stand By Me is a great film about kids, and the adventures and troubles they get into. Stand By Me showcases all of them, wrapped in drama, sadness, and humor. Stand By Me is a great film to have under your belt. Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O'Connell work so well together, it's like they've always been friends. And together, with Keifer Sutherland, it makes a fantastic group. Not to mention director Rob Reiner, he knows how to direct, because he has been directed. "all In The Family" wouldn't be the same if it wasn't for Michael "Meathead" Stivick (SP. Anyways, back to Stand By Me. Fantastic. Good for anyone to watch. 10 Stars for this coming-of-age flick.
